DokuWiki UTF-8 encoded spell checking cross-site scripting
dokuwiki-spellchecker-xss (35501) | Medium Risk |
Description:
DokuWiki is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input by the pell_utf8test function in lib/exe/spellcheck.php when performing spell checking on UTF-8 encoded messages and used in conjunction with Microsoft Internet Explorer. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using the Content-Header to inject malicious script into a Web page which would be executed in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the page is viewed. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.
