MySQL AB offers MaxDB under the MySQL AB "dual licensing" model. The complete MaxDB offering is provided free of charge under the Free Software/Open Source GNU General Public License (GPL) and also a commercial license with no open source restrictions.
MaxDB is priced at $49 per named user on single-CPU systems with a minimum of five users. Alternatively, customers may choose to pay $1,490 per CPU, without user limitations. A "named user" is an actual end user who connects to the database directly or indirectly.
