PyCrypto is a collection of both secure hash functions (such as MD5 and
SHA), and various encryption algorithms (AES, DES, RSA, ElGamal, etc.).

Update Information:

This update, to the current upstream pycrypto release, includes a number of regular bug fixes plus a security fix for CVE-2012-2417 (insecure ElGamal key generation). Anyone using ElGamal keys should generate new keys as soon as practical (any additional information about this bug will be tracked at https://bugs.launchpad.net/pycrypto/+bug/985164).
