HMAP - Web Server Fingerprinter

HMAP is a web server fingerprinting tool. It works well for the few servers I have in my testing pool so far. HMAP is still in an early development phase but it should gain accuracy and decrease its footprint as I get more servers to profile and tune the testing suite. This is the initial release. There are many more features coming down the pipeline but since there was some interest in its current incarnation, I'm releasing it for anyone who might want to see what sort of directions I'm going and to help test it.

Download and Installation

HMAP was written for Python 2.2. It will probably work with simple modifications under earlier versions of Python as well. I have tested this tool primarily under WinXP but it should work equally well on any OS that Python is supported. Here is gzipped tarbal of all the files you should need to get going. It includes a README that should help you get going. You can also view all the individual files here.
