Federal Sales Engineer

Role Description

Reports To: Director of Sales Engineering 

The Federal Sales Engineer works with production, engineering, and research and development, as well as external sales firms to determine how Tenable products and services could be designed or modified to best suit customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use technical skills to demonstrate to potential customers how and why to use Tenable products
  • Maintain current customer relationship and develop new ones
  • Potentially help identify and develop new product concepts
  • Provide status reports including trends in territory, upcoming events, follow-up and adherence to goals
  • Other related duties as required

Ideal Candidate Description

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5-7 years of experience directly relating to this job
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to take on a consultative style when presenting ideas and products
  • Knowledge of specific customer service standards and procedures, both domestic and international
  • Detailed knowledge of Tenable products
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement a range of sales programs
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of accurate work with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux Red Hat Command Line
